NFIB Bus Owner tells Why They left MI and What They Found in TN

Hi Andrea & Charlie,
As a former business owner in this State, all the below issues (especially union influence), have driven us out of here.  We are set up in Tennessee now, and can I say…What a difference!  I almost come to tears just when I have to speak to a government official regarding business questions, they are so nice, polite, and often handle the work for you.  It is the most amazing atmosphere down there.  I hate to say this, but I am glad we are done with Michigan.  I feel like we were welcomed with the hospitality of open arms coming from a severely abused situation where we were almost kicked to death.  Tennessee actually lets you own a business, with little to no government, and it is the simplest place to operate a business.  What a breath of fresh air!!!

Now all we have to do is sell our house (which is the final string this state will have on us).  I can’t wait to leave.  It breaks my heart to say that, I am Michigan born and bred (41 years), but enough is enough.  It is nauseating to watch our law makers make decisions to sabotage this State and the people in it, and then make us pay for it on top of it.  There is no prosperity here, I worked for the government and the Union and didn’t even reap the benefits.  Don’t even get me going on Unions; if that isn’t the biggest bunch of political back rubbing criminals I have ever seen.  It actually sickens me to think that the dues we paid went to a political party I whole heartedly never agree with and to pay their lawyer fees to stick it to us and put us out of business.  There are 2 reasons why we are out of here and the union is the biggest one.  I thank the Lord that he directed us out of here.
This State has a whole lot of cleaning to do, and getting this State to be a right to work State is one of them.  Getting the government out of my wallet is another.  Those two things will be the only things that bring me back here.
I commend NFIB for doing what they are doing.  Best wishes with the beating of the dead horse here in this State.
Sincerely,
Diana Franchak
Charlie,

You may use my email if you really think it will help.  Frankly, I believe our legislators don't care, otherwise they wouldn't have driven out the business climate with unreasonable taxes and letting unions have such influence in this State.  They don't care about their constituents.  I am furious that I have to leave, just furious.  Everything, I know and love is here, everything!

Be warned, that if the unions are allowed the "card check system" it will be the demise of most small business.  Small business cannot afford unions.  What saddens me the most is that I don't ever hear business owners stepping up and discussing this with talk show hosts from TV or radio.  They are what drive our tax dollars up and product costs up.  I have seen their corruption first hand and it almost sent me over the edge that we had no recourse and all laws are for them (which in turn made me see even deeper into the corruption they have with politicians).  Unions are truly evil they are stage 4 cancer to
business (it will make their quality of operation very uncomfortable, and eventually kill them).

Granted Tennessee does not have the services we provide here, but you know what who cares, I have heard nothing but good things about that State from everyone who has moved there and what I have seen being down there, I like it too.  The simplicity of the government and the simplicity to own a business is unbelievable!

When I have seen how hard my husband worked (physically), to build our lives and then have it taken down by the Union, this State of the economy, and corrupt politicians, I find it hard that integrity will ever exist.  May God bless you with all your endeavors.

Sincerely,

Diana Franchak
