Soldiers Testimonies of God's Protection in Iraq My daughter Jessie was driving one of the trucks in a three truck convey when a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) pierced the back of the middle truck. The RPG passed between the legs of the gunner, ricocheted off the radio hit the rifle of another soldier sitting in the truck breaking it into, and then went out the window in the front of the truck. RPGs are supposed to explode immediately after piercing the vehicle. Aside from some shrapnel and burns on the legs of the gunner and face of the one of the soldiers, everyone was alive and the soldiers recovered and were back on the job in a matter of weeks. The sergeant who almost always sat where the RPG entered the truck decided to sit in one of the other trucks that day. So many times seconds and inches meant the difference between life & death. The Lords favor and protection was on the entire 144th Military Police Platoon. They served a one year tour in Mosul Iraq and did not loose one soldier. In another instance, there was another three truck convoy which was driving down the road when the lead tuck all of sudden pulled off the road. The soldier driving the truck twice heard a voice telling him to pull of the road, and was ridiculed by the other soldiers in the truck for doing so. While he was getting yelled at, the soldier in the second and third trucks had also pulled off the road came over to the window and said, it’s a good thing you pulled off, but how did you see the IED (Innovative explosive device) buried in the road? Apparently, it was one of the largest IEDs they had ever seen. The sergeant asked the soldier, "Why did you pull off the road?" The soldier said, "Permission to speak freely Sir," the Sergeant said, "go ahead." "I heard God tell me twice to pull off the road and so I did." The sergeant looked at the IED and then looked back at the soldier and said, "You keep listening to the Lord son."
